When the Refinery approached us to help produce this Apple TV+ coming-of-age comedy-drama, we were tasked with co-creating a heartfelt promotion design for the deaf community. A special screening attended by, and featuring, CODA (children of deaf adults) families in New York City. Casting real-life CODA families was no easy task—we worked with an incredibly talented team of interpreters who found these amazing families. The location was a beautiful multi-level loft in downtown Manhattan; we set up screening on the third floor and interviews on the fourth. Our coverage was personal and intimate, executed with multiple cameras throughout. Real connections were made and real tears were shed. A memorable once in a lifetime experience. We are proud to also say, this piece won a Clio Award.
