The signature promotional piece for Netflix’s Russian Doll season two presented unique creative challenges. To create the perfect backdrop for Natasha Lyonne’s fabulous introduction, we built something truly special. Inspired by Joan of Arc’s quote, “Life is a series of kaleidoscopic moments,” the director envisioned a visually dynamic, reflective set.
Designing this multi-surface environment required precise planning. Reflections, typically avoided in production, became a feature rather than a flaw. The result was a kaleidoscopic house of mirrors that dazzled on camera, capturing the director’s vision while cleverly concealing the cameras, crew, and lights. The finished look amplified Natasha’s magnetic presence and brought the concept to life in a way that was both innovative and seamless.
